Trip To Bali

—

, ,

It was last June when friends and I visited Bali for a holiday trip. I was told the trip should be the last trip to Bali for all of them after a number of visit. they have covered almost every part of Bali, and plan to cover other holiday spot. I dont know, maybe somewhere new. so this time the plan is to experience Dolphin in Bali and nothing more. so let see if this will really happen..? 😀

anyway, right upon arrival we managed to grab the i-dont-remember-what-you-call-it-in-Bali but here in Malaysia we call it Toyota Avanza. we got it for RP1mil, 5 days rent. quite affordable though considering it’s a peak season. so, now that we have a transport, and we ‘re ready to go!

guess what, following the actual plan, 5 of us were supposed to sleep in the rent car on our first night considering all-night travel to the north of Bali. this way we could save some cash. looking at the Map, Denpasar where we arrived from KL is located somewhere in the south of Bali, but Lovina Beach where Dolphin is known as the main attraction, is located up north. so we waited no more, the journey has just started..

5 travellers, one car, one map. and it was dark.

Bali is just an island, there is no highway. it was tough to get to the other side of the island even though the map of Bali is in our hand. we lost along the way a couple of times, and we even experienced an accident. it was a shocking and frightening experience we can hardly forget and no, I dont know just how to share with you haha. anyway about the accident, we ended up spending some little time with the police of Bali, and we even have to pay RP500k for the damage of the car. sigh..

the night was filled with full of questions. there’s a map, yet we lost, and there’s 5 of us. and we had an accident..

although, we must stay in focus, and finally we have arrived in Singaraja, North Bali. kinda regret when the journey to north has to be at night. if it was day, there were so many nice spots to catch along the way. I missed the view of padi bukit and Danau Bratan.

Singaraja, 3am if I still remember, and it was just a small town. thought the journey will take all night, but we arrived quite early. the hotel are all closed, and we were all tired. not confident to sleep in the rented car, so we keep looking for a hotel around town. and after a long search, there was one that open. phew. oh and they sell the dolphin-watching-tour ticket too, great! but wait, the call time is 7am which means we had only 4 hours rest time. urgh..

the dolphin watch tour was nice, it was all wild dolphin. basically what you see in the picture is what the activity it all about, and this is what you will experience if it’s in your holiday package. too bad that I had a different boat, while my friends they were all shared one. they even experienced more energetic show when a group of dolphin jump high up and make a spin on the air. wish I was with them to enjoy the great show.

ok, that was all, trip to north is just to catch dolphin and nothing else you can do here except when you want to experience the local culture. we thought that journey from Denpasar to Lovina Beach would take long, however it was not. so now that we have some spare time. we did nothing but spending our time at the hotel, swimming pool. oh by the way, people don’t swim in Lovina Beach. it’s crystal clear but the sea water concentration is very high. once the water splash on your skin, a minute later you will see it turns to white salt.

it was a short while isn’t it? after lunch, we took the road to the east coast of Bali, straight head back to Kuta, small town somewhere around Denpasar airport. yes this time the road looks much clearer, and much easier. one thing you have to know, you need a map when you travel on your own, and at the same time, watch out for trademark and location because you can’t rely on signboards when you are outside town area.

along the way on the east coast, you will get to see several attraction spot and nice views too. in this part of Bali too you will be able to see the great Mount Agong, was informed as an active volcano. I was kinda regret that I missed the chance to take photo of this Mount Agong. not to forget paddy field too..

now that we have arrived at Kuta, most attractive town from my view. the Kuta beach was fine and clean, not as what I’ve heard earlier. we stayed in Simpang Inn, an affordable hotel located at the heart of Kuta about 200 meters away from the beach and much nearer to the night life spot. and the second time I went to Bali, I stayed in the same hotel too.

dinner time? sunset dinner of course and we went to Jimbaran. I was happy to be in this place, it was all seafood restaurant along the Jimbaran beach. this part of Bali is located somewhere on the south and you will love the experience here, really especially for candle light dinner. there could be other restaurant offers fine dining candle light sunset dinner somewhere in this area, if you would prefer..

the next day, this part of holiday was never in our plan, and this is where I get to know my new fav sport activity, surfing! Kuta beach is known as a surfing beach. the wave is just nice for a beginner who wants to learn and practice surfing. I had my second trip to Bali just for surfing. so spend our time and some cash, we took surfing class, the first lesson. quite excited to get to know a new sport activity, and when the first moment I managed to stand and on the surf board, it was great.

and when another sunset it about to happen, friends brought me to Tanah Lot, part of Bali where photographers must not missed. driving around Bali is so not boring. I get to see many things and activity around. best part about Bali is the local people, the community and the culture. I was first surprised to know that Balinese are majority Hindus. I thought they were just Indonesians and Muslim, common just like the other Indonesians. but I was wrong. I can see Balinese are blessed with their great island, many travellers come and go every day.

in Tanah Lot, sunset was awesome. I was kinda regret to have arrived quite late, 5.30pm to mention, when it was about 30 minutes away to sunset. I don’t have enough time to find right spot and get the right settings for my camera so I just shoot away, as much as I can, never want to missed any part of it until I found that I have lost in the sea of human, friends were out of my sight, I was lost haha. there were thousands of travellers and visitors here.

come to the next day, again we spend our time for surfing. and this time we didn’t take the class. we just rent surf board and with the skills we have, we practice it more. we just love it. aaaaannnddddd that was it.. I will definitely go to Bali again for surfing and photography.

next post, trip to Broga Hill and road trip to Penang & Cameron
